On-Site Property Management decided for tenant and aesthetic considerations that cleaning and restoring the exterior curtain wall painted aluminum metal panels, painted aluminum cladding and painted aluminum window frames on the exterior of the building was appropriate. Condition:  The painted aluminum curtain wall extrusions and painted aluminum Alucobond metal panels on this eleven storey Class "A" commercial building were severely chalked and oxidized. There were new commercial buildings in the area and management did not want to lose a competitive advantage with a weathered, dull, hard water and mineral stained building. We had to get the corrosion, oxidation and faded paint pigment off of the painted aluminum surfaces while protecting the paint finish. The spray applied lacquer renewed the paint gloss to factory specifications. Condition:  The highly reflective paint on the exterior building facade metal panels at this Exton, Pennsylvania location of the U.S.P.S. had failed prematurely. The dull, chalked, faded and oxidized painted aluminum panels were an eyesore and in need of cleaning and paint restoration. The paint that was applied during manufacturing of the aluminum panels was for interior use. The paint bleached and oxidized in the exterior environment not being able to withstand the UV rays, heat, pollutants and acidic contaminants that are present outside. We informed our client that the paint finish could be restored and coated to protect the pigment from the corrosive elements. We used our painted aluminum reconditioning system that removed the top layer of the factory applied paint finish. This painted aluminum refinishing program stripped the failed paint resin from the painted aluminum panel surfaces allowing for a smooth substrate to work from. Condition:  The blue painted aluminum curtain wall window mullions, painted aluminum window frames and painted aluminum panels on this commercial building in Toronto, Ontario had degraded and weathered from thirty years of sun and UV exposure, airborne pollutants, contaminants and the lack of painted aluminum preventive maintenance washing. The painted aluminum curtain wall mullions, painted aluminum window frames and painted aluminum panels were chalked, faded, damaged, oxidized, pitting and stained from vertical silicone leaching, caulking bleeding and sealant runoff streaking. The original paint finish looked aged and old after losing the factory gloss, paint color, luster and sheen. All of the damaging caustic elements had to be removed prior to painting. The original factory applied faded paint finishes required oxidation, bleeding caulking and leaching sealant removal.
